HENOSIS @ Lagos: Uplifting Widows in the Igando-Akesan Region

In 2023, Henosis International proudly initiated its inaugural outreach dedicated to uplifting widows and widowers in the Igando-Akesan region of Lagos. This impactful initiative, anchored in a strong partnership with the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in the Oko Filing area of Alimosho LGA, aims to address the unique challenges faced by this often-overlooked community.

Program Objectives

1. Nourishing Bodies

One of the primary goals of this outreach is to alleviate the nutritional challenges faced by widows and widowers in our community. Proper nutrition is essential for overall well-being, and our program will provide food packages filled with essential items to support their dietary needs. Addressing these nutritional gaps is crucial not only for individual health but also for fostering a healthier community.

2. Nourishing Souls

Beyond physical nourishment, we recognize the importance of emotional and spiritual support. Through uplifting words of encouragement and spiritual guidance, we aim to empower participants, fostering a sense of hope and resilience. This holistic approach to well-being can inspire individuals to rise above their circumstances, contributing positively to society.

3. Providing Care

Healthcare is a critical component of our outreach. We will offer basic medical services, including health screenings and consultations, to ensure the well-being of our beneficiaries. Access to healthcare significantly impacts quality of life, and by providing these essential services, we help break the cycle of poverty and illness that often affects vulnerable populations.

4. Empowerment through Prayer

Understanding the unique strength of widows and widowers, we will create a space for heartfelt prayers. This component of our program allows participants to engage in spiritual reflection and seek strength not only for themselves but also for their nation. Strengthening the spiritual fabric of our community ultimately contributes to a more compassionate society.

Global Importance and Impact

The issues we address through this outreach extend beyond the local community; they resonate on a global scale. By uplifting marginalized groups like widows and widowers, we contribute to broader goals such as gender equality, social justice, and community resilience. Empowering these individuals can lead to a ripple effect, inspiring others to take action and create positive change in their own communities.

Supporting widows and widowers helps build a more equitable world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. When we invest in marginalized populations, we pave the way for stronger, more cohesive societies that can work together to face global challenges.

EXPECTED IMPACT

We anticipate serving 100 beneficiaries during this transformative event. By addressing their nutritional, emotional, and healthcare needs, we strive to uplift the community and foster a sense of belonging and support.

Conclusion

The Henosis International outreach in Lagos is more than just an event; it is a commitment to empowering widows and widowers in the Igando-Akesan region. Through our collaborative efforts and strong community ties, we aim to create lasting change and improve the lives of those we serve.

Join us as we embark on this journey of compassion and empowerment, demonstrating that together, we can make a difference—not just locally, but globally. By uplifting individuals, we contribute to a brighter, more equitable world for all.
